Chicago’s annual Ducky Derby happened on Thursday and raised nearly $600,000 for the Special Olympics. More than 82,000 rubber ducks were dumped in the Chicago River. People donated $10 per duck for a chance to win prizes, including a new Chevy Trailblazer…………Lifeguards near Columbus, Ohio left their post at a public pool to go save two people drowning in a nearby stream. A mom and her seven-year-old son were struggling in 12 to 15-foot water. The lifeguards heard them yelling for help, scaled a fence, and saved them both…….And finally………
We heard about this place over a decade ago, and now there’s an update: Parkland, FL man John D’Eri opened a car wash in 2012 called Rising Tide that only hires people with autism. He did it because his son Andrew is autistic and needed a job. They’re back in the news now because it’s been a massive success. They’re opening their fourth location next year, and now employ 90 neurodivergent adults.
