A man in France discovered a gold treasure worth $800,000 while digging a swimming pool in his backyard. He found “five gold bars and many coins” buried in plastic bags, and he was allowed to keep it, because the cops were able to determine that it wasn’t stolen……….. A teenager in Boca Raton, Florida is being hailed a hero after helping multiple people who got caught in a flash flood last month. 18-year-old Thomas Ruzzano went from car to car making sure everyone was okay. A few people he helped then pitched in to help him save an elderly guy who couldn’t get his seatbelt off. The water was up to his shoulders by the time they got him out…………..And finally…………..
The Purple Heart is one of the most prestigious awards a member of the military can receive . . . and an official in Illinois just helped the family of a World War Two veteran named James Bennett get it back. James died in 1990 at the age of 76, and he’d apparently left the award in a safe deposit box, which was marked as abandoned. Now, it has been reunited with his family. Sadly,, this is a pretty common issue, but the IL Treasurer started Operation Purple Heart to locate and return misplaced military medals; 17 have been returned so far, with six still unclaimed.
