The Beatles Share Unreleased Version Of “I’ve Just Seen A Face” From Upcoming ‘Anthology 4’

The Beatles have previewed their upcoming Anthology 4 collection with an unreleased version of the Help! classic, "I’ve Just Seen a Face," recorded in June 1965 at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. This previously unheard version captures the Fab Four’s raw studio energy, including John Lennon's playful commentary, as you hear him joking that “Lonnie’s gonna regret not singing this one,” a reference to Scottish skiffle singer Lonnie Donegan, who greatly influenced the band. Set for release on November 21, Anthology 4 features 36 tracks, including 13 unreleased outtakes and demos like versions of "In My Life," "Nowhere Man," and "If I Fell," plus a BBC rehearsal of "All You Need Is Love" and new 2025 mixes of "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love." The collection will be accompanied by a restored nine-part Anthology documentary premiering on November 26 on Disney+, with all four Anthology volumes also available as a comprehensive 12-LP vinyl box set and an 8-CD package, as well as digital formats. Thom Yorke Says Radiohead Took Seven-Year Break Because “The Wheels Came Off A Bit, So We Had To Stop”

In Radiohead's only interview before their upcoming tour, frontman Thom Yorke told The Sunday Times why the group has not played live since 2018. “I guess the wheels came off a bit, so we had to stop,” he explained. “There were a lot of elements. The shows felt great but it was, like, let’s halt now before we walk off this cliff.” There were also personal and collective challenges within the Grammy-winning band, including Yorke’s unresolved anguish over the death of his first wife, Rachel Owen, in 2016. “I needed to stop anyway, because I hadn’t really given myself time to grieve,” Yorke revealed to the publication. “[My grief] was coming out in ways that made me think, ‘I need to take this away.’” After a seven-year hiatus, Radiohead will return to the stage with a series of instantly sold-out shows across Europe and the U.K. from November to December 2025, marking their first live performances since the conclusion of 2018’s A Moon Shaped Pool Tour. Geddy Lee Shares Insight Into How Drummer Anika Nilles Was Chosen For Rush’s Upcoming Reunion Tour

Rush bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee shared in a recent CBC News interview that he and guitarist Alex Lifeson have been preparing rigorously for their highly anticipated reunion tour, motivated by a deep desire to make music again following the death of drummer Neil Peart. Rush’s 50 Something Tour has received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans, prompting the band to add multiple dates to the initial run, which has expanded to 58 shows in 24 North American cities. Lee revealed they recruited drummer Anika Nilles to fill the irreplaceable role left by Peart, following a recommendation from Lee’s bass tech after the two worked together on Jeff Beck’s final tour. “When we made the decision to see what it’s like to play with another drummer, we contacted her, and she’s just a fantastic person,” Lee said. “She’s just a tremendous player. She’s got great technical facility and she’s just got a really positive attitude, and that’s really good for Alex and I to be around right now.” (Rolling Stone)

David Ball, Co-Founder Of “Tainted Love” Hitmakers Soft Cell, Dead At 66

David Ball, co-founder and multi-instrumentalist of the influential English synth-pop duo Soft Cell, has died at the age of 66. According to a tribute posted on the band’s official Instagram, Ball “passed away peacefully in his sleep at his London home on Wednesday 22nd October.” Best known for the 1981 global hit, "Tainted Love" (a cover of Gloria Jones' 1964 love song), Ball crafted much of Soft Cell’s dark, pioneering synth-driven sound that helped define the genre alongside frontman Marc Almond’s distinctive vocals. The pair formed in 1979 and achieved lasting success with several albums and multiple UK Top 10 singles, including “Bedsitter,” “Torch,” “What!” and “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye.”

The duo’s biggest hit, “Tainted Love,” reached No. 1 on the U.K. Singles Chart, and spent 43 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (peaking at No. 8), while selling an estimated 21 million copies worldwide. Despite health struggles since a 2023 spinal injury that caused him to perform in a wheelchair, Ball remained creatively active, recently completing Soft Cell’s final album, Danceteria, which is set for release in spring 2026. Almond paid affectionate tribute to Ball on the band’s website, referring to his longtime bandmate as a “wonderfully brilliant musical genius,” while calling him “the heart and soul of Soft Cell,” and adding, “I’m very proud of our legacy.” (Billboard)
