While the Woodstock 50 event scheduled in New York in August continues to suffer setbacks, including the loss of a venue, pending an appeal, there are TWO festivals right here in North Carolina set to celebrate the same event. The Carolina Bohemian Jam goes down in Salisbury at the Rowan County Fairgrounds August 16-18, featuring tribute bands from the 1960s and 1970s. Then there’s the WE2019 Experience, which is happening August 9-11 in West Jefferson, with performances by CANNED HEAT, TEN YEARS AFTER, JEFFERSON STARSHIP and more.
SLASH is out on tour with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, and is prepping for a live release on September 20. The set was recorded in London and the Living the Dream Tour, will be available in multiple formats.
PAUL MCCARTNEY ended his tour in L.A. on Saturday, and he brought RINGO STARR out during the encore. They hugged, and performed “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Helter Skelter“. Paul performed a 38-song set. He paid tribute to George Harrison, singing “Something”, and to John Lennon, singing “Here Today”. He also brought out Eagles guitarist JOE WALSH during “The End”.
