SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE have had to cancel a September 18 show. Originally set to appear at the “Rockin‘ Fore The Kids” event at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the band’s appearance has been canceled. due regulations on public gatherings during the pandemic.

NICKELBACK released a cover of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by The Charlie Daniels Band, where they battle with guitars instead of fiddles. CHAD KROEGER said they wanted to, quote, “give it a little bit more of a darker kind of tone.” 

FRANKIE BANALI of QUIET RIOT just finished up a three week hospital stay. He’s been battling pancreatic cancer, and while hospitalized, suffered a stroke.He announced it on social media, posting: “Update: I spent the last three weeks in the hospital. Home now. Had two blood transfusions. I also had a stroke while there. I am rehabbing at home. Thank you for your concern and well wishes.” 

On Friday, August 14, PETE WAY passed away. The 69 year old succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident a few months prior. WAY was the founding bassist of UFO, a co-founder of FASTWAY, and toured with many acts, including OZZY OSBOURNE.

There are two releases coming October 16 from the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND. The FInal Note will feature DUANE ALLMAN’s final performance with the band on October 17, 1971. And a live set recorded in 2005 in PA is also being released that day.

A new song from the NIKKI SIXX project, SIXX:A.M., is coming Friday, August 21. “Maybe It’s Time” will raise money to fight the opioid crisis and help with recovery. The songs features DEF LEPPARD’S JOE ELLIOTT, SLASH, COREY TAYLOR of SLIPKNOT, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH’S IVAN MOODY and AWOLNATION.

An impressive list of rockers recently came together online to benefit fellow artists, crew members, and independent venues and promoters. They cranked out a cover of THE BEATLES “Come Together”, and AC/DC‘s “It’s A Long Way To The Top…..”. The tunes feature LZZY HALE, SLASH, GILBY CLARKE, MATT SORUM, ROBIN ZANDER AND MORE.
