Spring is here and the fishing is better. Freshwater fishing has really picked up. The crappie fishing is good with many being caught on small plastic baits, jigs, and minnow. The bass fishing is decent on plastic worms, jigs, spinner baits, and crankbaits. Catfishing is good on night crawlers, and chicken livers. The racoon perch are hitting on minnows.
The inshore saltwater anglers are still waiting for the water to warm up. Speckled trout are being caught on mirror lures, gulp and grubs.
Captain Terrel Gould of the Carolina Princess reports fishing in the gulf stream is really good. Several anglers have caught black fin tuna, kings, wahoo, and mahi mahi.
Don’t go wishing, go fishing. Take a kid fishing and pick up your trash.
