If you missed the pooch parade on Saturday in downtown New Bern, you missed a great time. The weather was perfect for the 15th Annual Santa Paws on Parade, hosted by Nauti Paws Pet Boutique and Bakery. This event is always free and open to everyone.

Both Santa and Father Christmas showed up this year to meet and greet the dogs at the corner of Craven and Front Streets, and there was plenty of festive attire, with the dogs and their “parents” decked out for Christmas. Prizes are given out in all sorts of categories, including oldest and youngest dogs, best dressed, biggest and smallest. There are all different breeds, all different sizes, and all kinds of fun as these mutts hang out, get a big group photo taken and then strut their stuff through downtown New Bern.

Make a note to be part of this event next year – even if you don’t have a dog, you’re welcome to attend.
