Today’s Good News 1-9-23

A woman in Florida got her engagement ring back 20 years after she flushed it down a toilet.  It happened at the guy’s parents’ house right after they got engaged.  She took it off to wash her hands and knocked it in the bowl. She actually cleaned out their septic tank looking for it back then, and never found it.  But a plumber did last month while replacing their toilet.  So the guy’s parents cleaned it up and gave it to her as a surprise Christmas gift……….. An 18-year-old pilot pulled off an emergency landing on a road near San Bernardino, California last week . . . while three family members were on board with him. The engine cut out, and his grandmother was in the backseat crying. So he had to tune it all out and focus.  He’s been flying since he was 16, but just recently got his license.  He eventually wants to be an airline pilot……………..And finally………………..

Here’s another amazing Buffalo blizzard story, sent to me by a friend – Sha’Kyra Aughtry and her boyfriend found Joe, a 64-year-old mentally-disabled, local movie theater worker, outside in a snow bank, suffering from severe frostbite. They carried him inside, and Aughtry said they had to “cut his socks off, use a hairdryer to dry his pants that were frozen to his legs, and cut the straps of a bag from his hands’. He remembered his sister’s phone number, so they called her to let her know they had found him. First responders couldn’t reach them, so they took care of Joe overnight until neighbors and strangers cleared enough snow so that they were able to get him to a hospital.
