Today’s Good News 10-20-23

A guy named Chuck Feeney passed away recently at 92.  He made billions co-founding a company that owns a lot of the “duty free” stores you see at airports.  But he lived the last 30 years of his life on a strict budget after giving away his ENTIRE FORTUNE. He was a big fan of “giving while living,” and launched a charity in 1982 called Atlantic Philanthropies.  They finally shut down three years ago after announcing they’d successfully donated it all. Over 38 years, Chuck’s charity handed out $8 BILLION in grants.  Much of it was done anonymously…………….. A DoorDash driver in New Hampshire got stopped for driving on a suspended license.  So a cop delivered her last order for her.  The customer had no idea what was going on when he saw a cop at his door with a McDonald’s bag.  He says he felt bad because he forgot to tip him.  (Can you tip a cop?  Probably not.)…………………And finally………………

Wildlife officials in Alaska saved two young deer they found swimming four miles from shore.  It’s not that weird to see deer swimming from one island to the next.  But they were obviously in trouble, because they swam right up to the boat. The officials helped them on board, dropped them off on dry land, and they ran off into the woods.
