What’s the best Christmas gift you got this year?  A guy in D.C. gave his wife a Powerball ticket for Christmas that hit for $2 MILLION! It was for a drawing that happened December 2nd, and he hadn’t checked the numbers, so they didn’t find out it was a winner until Christmas Day………………. Speaking of Christmas:  Elephants at the Berlin Zoo in Germany have been chowing down on unsold Christmas trees.  They find them delicious, apparently, so it’s become an annual thing at the zoo.  Their bison like them too…………..And finally…………… 

On Monday, an Oregon couple were walking their dogs in a coastal state park when one dog bounded ahead of them and fell 300 feet down a cliffside. Leo the golden retriever is lucky to be alive, thanks to the U.S. Coast Guard.  First responders were preparing to rappel down the cliff when a Coast Guard aircrew arrived and deployed a rescue swimmer with a hoisting basket to pull the dog into the chopper.  Leo’s jaw was broken in three places and he suffered numerous cuts and bruises, so a Go Fund Me was started to help pay vet bills, but the fund has been shut down after donations hit almost $25K. The family says “We are flabbergasted at the overwhelming amount of donations we’ve received – especially since Leo’s story appeared on ABC World News with David Muir! As a result, we immediately turned off the ability to donate. We have received messages from people who still wish to donate. If it is still in your heart, please consider a donation to your local animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or dog rescue in Leo’s name.”
