Your next paycheck could be a tad bigger than usual, even if you didn’t get a raise.  The IRS adjusted tax brackets for 2024 based on inflation.  So if you’re making the same as last year or only got a cost-of-living bump, you might have a little less money withheld for taxes……….A woman in Richmond, VA who regularly buys stuff at thrift stores bought a glass vase at Goodwill for $3.99. After inspecting it, she posted a photo in a Facebook group for glass collectors, who suggested having an auction house look at it. Wright Auction House in Chicago identified it as being designed by Carlo Scarpa, a distinguished Italian architect, and the rare vase was sold to an unidentified private art collector in Europe for $107,100……..And finally………..

Two Montreal girls, 13-year-old Zoe and 14-year-old Emma, are both strong swimmers, and Emma hopes to make the Olympics someday.  They were on vacation together in Barbados, and while at the beach, heard a woman in the water yelling for help. They got her back to shore as she explained that her husband was farther out and needed help too, as he was struggling to stay afloat.  No lifeguards were on duty, so they swam out on a boogie board and gave it to him, then managed to pull him the whole way back to the beach, saving his life.
