Today’s Good News 2-19-24

This is a good news, bad news story:  Back in November, a lady in Florida got gored by a bull. But it ended up being a good thing, because scans at the E.R. spotted lung cancer.  So being gored ended up saving her life………..A guy in Michigan bought his first-ever lottery ticket and won half-a-million bucks.  It was a $5 scratcher, and he didn’t even know how to do it.  He needed his parents to show him how it worked.  He just claimed the prize on what happened to be his 21st birthday.  He’s planning to pay off his student loans and save the rest…………..And finally……

This is one of those awful-then-heartwarming stories:  A cop in South Bend, IN found a dog with its mouth zip-tied shut. But he’s okay and in a much better situation now, after Office Stephanie Northcutt adopted him.  She named him Zeus. SBPD says that Zeus is actually the second dog that Northcutt has rescued while on the job. Authorities say Zeus is doing extremely well, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Zeus’ zip tie is ongoing.
