A bowling team in Kentucky set a new world record and raised money for a cancer charity at the same time.  Four bowlers rolled 2,032 strikes in 24 hours……….. Chicago has a “Tool Library“, with thousands of tools for residents to borrow.  Over 90% of the tools have been donated by locals.  And people can sign up for “pay-what-you-can” memberships that grant you access to the vast collection………………And finally………………. 

“CBS Evening News” did a great segment about a 20-year-old AL woman Abbie Rutledge, who’s GLAD she got pulled over for speeding. State Trooper J.T. Brown pulled her over, and found out she was struggling financially and couldn’t afford a ticket, so he spent 15 minutes talking to her about different career paths she could take. They decided nursing might be a good fit, so he let her off with a warning and wrote, “Promise me you’ll go to scrub or nursing school AND slow down, and I won’t give you a ticket.” It happened in August of 2022, and she followed through.  She graduated last month, and says she loves her new job, working as a surgical technician at a University of Alabama hospital in Birmingham. She invited J.T. to her graduation because she wanted him to know what a huge impact he made on her life.  He says seeing her follow through on his advice has made his “entire career worth it.”
