A fifth-grade teacher in Paw Paw, Michigan is in the news after posting a video about why he eats lunch with his students every day.  He thinks connecting with them in a real way is the first step and everything else follows from that……….. A couple from northern California took their cat on a camping trip to Yellowstone, and he ran off.  But he just showed back up two months later at a shelter in Salinas, California, 800 miles from where he went missing.  No one knows how he got there, but he’s back home safe and sound……………And finally………….

Researchers at Duke restored a guy’s vision, just in time for him to see his newborn baby’s face.  Tyler Wilfong was born with a genetic condition that slowly destroys your retinas and makes your vision worse and worse. They used a new gene therapy where they inject a special virus that infects the bad cells in your eye, then delivers “good” genes to repair your retina. He got the treatment on one eye this spring, and within days, he could see his fingers in front of his face again.  So now he’s having it done on his other eye.  He says he’s excited to know he’ll be able to watch his son grow up.
