Dogs are smart, but not THAT smart:  Firefighters in Connecticut saved a dog last month after it got away from its owners . . . jumped in the ocean . . . and started swimming out to sea.  Thankfully, they got to it pretty quickly………………… A couple in England launched a TikTok account in September called Cooking with Carter, where their three-year-old son gives cooking lessons.  He’s a huge hit, and people think his accent is cute.  But they’re also impressed at how good of a cook he is, and how good of a teacher.  He’s got over 300,000 followers already………And finally……………. 

Taylor Schenker lives near Asheville, and was helping a friend try to recover items from her home, which was destroyed in Hurricane Helene. While searching along the Swannanoa River, she kept finding photos that had survived, thanks to the waterproof glossy paper. She created an Instagram page called “Photos from Helene”, and has been posting pictures there in the hopes of discovering who they belong to. Schenker herself has found about 100 photos, but search and rescue teams have also sent her photos to be posted. Speaking about the families in that area, Schenker says “they’ve lost likely their entire home in this situation—it’s such a privilege to have an insight into this moment in their lives through these photographs and be able to give them back to them.”
