A Galapagos tortoise at the Philadelphia Zoo just became a first-time mom at age 97.  They say it’s a record for her species.  She’s lived at the zoo since 1932, and she’s finally living up to her name . . . it’s “Mommy.” She and her four babies are doing well…………….. Two childhood friends in England reunited almost 90 years later.  Jim Dougal and Betty Davidson are both 96, and they lived across the street when they were eight and used to walk to school together.  Jim’s son recently found an old class photo from 1936 and wanted to see if he could track down any of his classmates.  Most are no longer with us, but Betty only lived 70 miles away.  She described Jim as her “childhood sweetheart.”………………..And finally…………….

Valerie, a miniature wiener dog in Australia has somehow survived 16 months in the wild.  She ran off while her owners were camping on Kangaroo Island near Adelaide in November of 2023.  They figured there was no way she survived, but wildlife officials spotted her last month and said she was looking “really healthy.”  They’re still trying to catch her, but she should be headed home soon, as there are trail cams that have recorded her and lots of volunteers on her trail.
